Biography

Adriaan Denkers operates, besides his appointment at the Vrije Universiteit, as an independent scientific researcher and consultant for government agencies. Adriaan studied social psychology and received his PhD based on research on the psychological aftermath of crime victimisation. He worked as a scientific researcher for the Dutch government (Social and Cultural Planning Bureau, the Tax Administration, Customs and Excise, Fiscal Intelligence and Investigations agency) and as an Assistant and Associate Professor in the Departments of Social Psychology and Penal Law and Criminology at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. His research interests centre around norms and behaviour, and include positive and negative (organisational) deviance, individual differences, organisational culture and climate, law enforcement and regulation.
