Marise Ph. Born is Full Professor of Personnel Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of Erasmus University Rotterdam. She also is Endowed Professor of Industrial and Personnel Psychology at VU Amsterdam. Her research interests are in the domains of personnel selection, cross-cultural psychology, test development, and personality and individual differences. For many years, she was active as council member of the International Test Commission, for which she was president from 2008-2010. Between 2009 and 2015 she was also chair of the EUR Institute of Psychology. In 2006, she co-founded the Dutch-Flemish Network for Recruitment and Selection Research, together with Professor Rob Meijer of Groningen University. In 2010 she was member of the task force of ISO 10667, a world-wide ISO Standard on assessment of people for work-related purposes launched. In addition, she is a former member of the board of the Dutch Network of Female Professors (LNVH) and, as of September 2015, is Chair of the Dutch Foundation of Psychotechnics (NSvP). Professor Born is advising and has advised over 17 PhD candidates. Fields of interest: Personnel Selection and Recruitment, Personality, Assessment Centers, Situational Judgment Tests, Meta-analysis, Test Development and Individual Differences, Entrepreneurship, Gender Issues, Cross-Cultural Research. On-going research: Psychometric properties of the assessment centre and situational judgment tests, entrepreneurship and personality, job search and applicant decision making, differential effects of selection and recruitment on male and female job searchers and applicants, the social relations model in work contexts, expatriate selection (research alone or in collaboration).
