My research project is “the Relationships between Conspiracy Theories, Extremism and Crime”, supervised by Dr. Jan-Willem van Prooijen and Prof. Dr. Paul A.M. van Lange. This research focuses on the mechanism of “how conspiracy beliefs affect extreme beliefs and criminal behavior”. This research is funded by China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Before I started my PhD, I studied Criminal Psychology in China University of Political Science and Law. During my Master study, I had opportunity to study many kinds of criminals in prisons. As an exchange student, I studied Criminal Law in Soochow University(Taiwan, China) for one semester. I am interested in beliefs (e.g. conspiracy beliefs, just world beliefs), extremism and terrorism. The work experience in psychiatric hospital and prisons also gave me a passion to study justice (e.g. free will, crime responsibility). Now I am doing my PhD in VU Amsterdam, meanwhile I work in NSCR (Nederlands Studiecentrum Criminaliteit en Rechtshandhaving).
