After receiving my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Arizona, I returned to Japan and went on to Shirayuri Women's University where I received my master's degree in clinical psychology. I became a licensed clinical psychologist and have been providing social skills training and other services for autistic individuals with communication difficulties. After that, I went to the Ph.D. course of the Graduate University for Advanced Studies to study social motivation in autism, and have conducted research using functional MRI. After receiving my doctoral degree, I was selected as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow, and currently, conducting computational modeling of human social behavior in the social psychology group at VU as a visiting researcher.
